Alexandra Novicova
Alexandra Novicova’s musical career began at the age of 5, where she was accepted to a special music school for gifted children in Chisinau (the capital of Moldova). She began with piano before later graduating from the Chisinau Academy of Music, having received a master’s degree for voice, piano and conducting.
Voice teacher at the Australian International School (since 2000), Singapore Lyric Opera (since 2003), LaSalle College of the Arts (since 2011) and other private schools. Given the award of “Inspirational Teacher” at the 2010 Zhong Sin International Music Competition and “Excellence in Music Education” at the 2013 Prima Artists International Music Competition.
Having lived in Singapore for 26 years, Alexandra dedicated her life to teaching. She has taught students ranging from kindergarten to Lassalle College of the Arts. Her students have entered leading music universities in the USA, Australia, England, Russia.
Alexandra is a highly rewarded music specialist with international experience and enormous passion for music. Teaching music to all ages from preschool to university students in different disciplines. Her Students have excelled, getting leading parts in performance and taking prizes in competitions. Several students have performed at Carnegie Hall; another student was a finalist in MediaCorp’s Young Talent Competition.
She enjoys judging performances and seeing talent blossom. She has judged for Singapore Youth Festival and has had the honor of judging for the third time at the Asia Pacific Arts Festival. An active promoter of early music education, she organizes musicals and educational concerts for children (of all ages).
