Dr. Sornsuang Tangsinmonkong
Sornsuang Tangsinmonkong joined the piano faculty of College of Music Mahidol University since May 2011.
Currently, she is a piano department secretary, a coordinator of minor piano courses and an admission committee. Her responsibility includes teaching small ensemble and private piano lessons.
She received scholarship from Mahidol University to study Doctoral in piano performance under Prof. Dr. James Miltenberger and graduated in 2017. While she was studying at the West Virginia University, she was also awarded scholarships from the Valarie Canady Charitable Trust Foundation in three consecutive years: 2013, 2014 and 2015.
She was a vice president of West Virginia University Music Teacher National Association Student Chapter in 2015. The most remarkable performance was the premiere of “Half of Me” for the piano left hand composed by Miguel del Aguila in April 2017 at Bloch Learning and Performance Hall, West Virginia University; this piece was commission by Van Cliburn Foundation for the 2000 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.
She focuses on building professional artistic pianists. From her teaching career, she received Best Teacher Award from the 9 th Hong Kong International Youth Performance Arts Festival (HKYPAF) 2022, Teaching award from Churairat ABRSM Piano Competition 2018, the certificate of recognition of the professionalism and skill from Trinity Award Thailand from teaching her student who received the second highest marks in ATCL (Recital) in 2013.
She was invited to be an adjudicator for many competitions such as the Asia Pacific Youth Performing Art Championship 2023 (YPAC 4) in Malaysia, the 19th and 24th Osaka Music Competition (Thailand Regional Round) in 2018 and 2023, the 5th Thailand International Piano Competition (TIPC) in 2018, the 21st and 22nd SET Youth Musician Competition in 2019 and 2020, the piano competition (age not more than 15 years old category) held by The Office of the Private Education Commission, Ministry of Education to be an adjudicator for held in 2013, 2018, 2019 and 2022.
